The Royal Botanic Garden
Edinburgh UK. The Royal Botanic Garden Edinburgh was
founded in the 17th century on an area the size of a tennis court. It
now extends to 31 hectares (at Inverleith in Edinburgh), and
incorporates Specialist Gardens at three very different locations in
Scotland (Younger, Logan and Dawyck; 50ha, 12ha and 25ha). The Garden
is first and foremost a scientific institution, dedicated to the
pursuit of research of the highest quality on the systematics and
biology of plants.
